Hello again from the nation's capital !
The warm weather continues with the addition of precipitation today. Earlier in the week we awoke to 7cm of the white stuff. It only lasted a couple of days. We did not even bother shoveling. The last four days have seen highs of over 11C.
We took advantage of the warm weather yesterday and put up the outside Christmas lights. With less than a month until Christmas we thought we better get in the holiday spirit. Today the new Christmas tree was put up in the family room. It is a slim tree with lights and is certainly not easier to assemble. It will suffice as it fits nicely in a corner without having to remove a chair. Hopefully it gets decorated one day.
Carter plays hockey tonight at 7pm against the Cumberland Grads. They beat them by ten plus goals the last time they played. Last night they tied the Silver Seven White team. It was a very entertaining game. Both teams were flying from the first drop of the puck. Carter scored the first goal of the game on a nice break away. He muscled his way through the opposition with skill and determination. He had three other opportunities but was robbed each time by the post. The other team managed two goals in the third period but the Rangers managed to tie the game with 6.8 seconds left in the game. The Rangers pulled off to wins this week on Monday and Tuesday night. They are definitely on a roll.
Carter also had practise on Thursday and shooting drills on the goalies on Wednesday. He practised this afternoon with the AA team. They keep asking him out to practise but not to play. The AA coach kept calling Carter 'Ben". Carter corrected him and the coach replied "I'll call you what ever I want". I guess ice time is ice time. If he ever gets to play a game as an affiliate he'll be appreciative. We enjoyed a nice quiet evening on Friday night watching hockey on television. We caught a couple of games last night as well after returning home at 9:45pm. Hockey, hockey, hockey... that is our life.
Carter also visited the dentist this week; after hockey practise on Thursday. He keeps busy with his sketch pad, taping his hockey stick, re-stringing his numerous lacrosse sticks, reading, playing basket ball, eating and the odd time completing homework. He carries his rosary with him at all times. The religion classes are paying off.
Paula and Randy remain busy at work. Paula spent a lot of extra hours at work this week. It seems all hell broke loose while she was in Paris. She is also suffering again with a cold. Randy had it bad on Monday and Tuesday. He spent both days at home alone napping with Bob and in the w.c. No one in our house remembered it was his birthday. Can you believe it?
Our weather is suppose to turn wintery again this week with the possibility of 30cm of rain and snow. We are somewhat prepared with clean eaves troughs and the yard cleaned up this weekend. The whole area is loving our current weather and wishes it would stay until April...wouldn't that be nice.
We look forward to the weekly reports. Have a great week.
