Hello again from the nation's capital !
The extreme heat wave continues in Ontario. We ain't complaining, don't get me wrong. It sure beats 9C or -20C winter weather. We have not been spending much time outside. The evenings remain hot keeping the morning temperatures at 26C. The humidity is the killer. Oh well, we will make due with what mother nature deals.
Randy was out working in the yard before 7:00am this morning. The trees and shrubs always need trimming, the front lawn had its weekly rake and push mow, the perennial beds were thinned filling two big recycle bags. The dishes were done and two loads of laundry are folded and put away. I suppose breakfast is next as Paula and Carter just crawled out of bed (10:15am). Apparently they were both very tired. The big sleep should keep them in a good mood. Bob even got up early with Randy this morning. He does not like the air conditioning and enjoyed the warm morning. He has been sneeking out of the yard lately but he always returns. His hole was closed this am after the neighbor politely advised she had company. "Bob come" brought him bouncing home discovering his escape route.
Good News ! - Carter's cast came off on Thursday. Those of you with facebook will have discovered this already. He is happy and the team is relieved. He can play in provincials. His fracture is completely healed. Oh to be young and heal so fast. He has no more excuses to sit and play video games all day.
We leave for holiday on Sunday morning. We will spend a few days in Sand Banks provincial park on Lake Ontario. We spent an afternoon there last year. Our camping spot is in the an open field. We wondered why it was still available as we only booked it on Tuesday. We have air conditioning so it just doesn't matter. Our next stop in Darlington Prov Park for the provincials on the long weekend in Whitby. On Monday we leave for a few days in Algonquin Park. We are looking forward to solitude out in the bush although we will have 30 Amp power. We will then travel to Fitzroy Prov Park on Friday and return home on Sunday. Bob will be joining us as no dog sitters are available.
Hope you are all enjoying the summer.
Get better Colt and Remington - we are thinking of both of you and hope you both get better real soon.
