Hello again from the nation's capital !
It was nice to read all the newsletters this week. All are keeping busy with spring and summer like activities. Ruth and Larry's new lot looks awesome. What a change. Ron looked prouder than a bull with his 26" Walleye: too bad it couldn't be ate. Glad to see you still enjoy your cottage. Mom & Dad must be settled in at their cottage. Hear you need some rain. We'll send you some. Rick et famile always seem to be on the go. Hope your golfing trip is as good as the others. Roberta, please take it easy and let your daughters look after you and your yard this season. Odin sure seems to make you busy and active. Reggie, we have not heard boo from you and Barb for ages. I guess neither of you know how to type. You must be busy trying to start your own family, Ha!
I just returned from dropping Carter at lacrosse. We were late. I had to clean all the gutters as the heavy rain was pouring over the sides. It was thundering and lightning like crazy but I got them all clean. The rained slowed just as I was finishing; forty five minutes of peltering rain and hail. I just poured myself a cocktail and started updating the blog. Only until the hockey game begins. I had a quick shower, fed the boy, packed his bag, helped restring his stick and darted out the door. Paula was phoning us asking where we were. She will bring Carter home from practise. I can not wait for game four. It will be exciting to watch the Canucks get another ass kicking.
Last night we had hockey and the night before was lacrosse. Carter has lacrosse on Monday and Wednesday and hockey power skating on Tuesday and Thursday. The days go way to fast. Both Paula and myself are extremely busy at work. It just doesn't ever slow down. I think we should apply for relief postal workers and spend the summer carrying a protest sign. It has been swelteringly hot this week so I reserve the right to resind that wish. I would get along with all the unionist anyway.
Our weekend was spent in Peterborough at our first away lacrosse tournament. It was a nice 3.5 hour drive on a winding two way highway (rare in our neck of the woods) through the forest. We were surprised we never saw a moose. We did see a mad cow escape from some dufous farmer. The team lost all four games. They played A teams and they are rated low B to C. Hopefully C in provincials. Why we go to the A tournaments and totally humiliate the players is questionable. Carter scored 6 out of the 12 goals the team scored. He managed to get a hatrick in one game. He was the only one on our team who scored that game. We were very proud of his sportsmanship, competitiveness and leadership abilities this past weekend. He is the team captain. He has strung a few heads for his team mates this season. He spends a lot of time stringing his own heads so he has become quite skilled at the trade. He could be making a few bucks. We are off to Brampton this weekend to do it all again. We pretty much play all the same teams plus the Whitby team, they practise and play year round. Oh well! I hope the boys have fun.
That is about it from our house. Have a great weekend and sorry for the tardiness of this report.
