Hello again from the nation's capital !
We must apologize for the tardiness of the reports. We are all very active this time of year. With lacrosse, hockey, yard work, house work, the playoffs etc we haven't had much spare time. We were off playing lacrosse and a hockey party two weekends ago. This past weekend we managed to slip out to Fitzroy Provincial Park for three glorious nights of rest and relaxation...
Our weekend was great. It rained a couple hours after arriving for about an hour. We were about to put the salmon on a cedar plank and cook it over an open fire. Instead we warmed up frozen chili, a back-up meal which came in handy, and visited in the R.V. for a couple hours. After dinner and cocktails the clouds disipated and we lit a fire. It turned out to be a great night roasting giant marshmellows and eating smores. Paula bought these super huge marshmellows - taste great.
Saturday we were up by 8 after tem hours of sleep. We had our usual late campers breakfast then went for a long hike in the woods. Randy was wiped by the time we got home. He should have had an ice cream treat on the way home, like P & C. Within minutes we were off to the beach. It was sunny and very hot on Saturday. We all burned badly. We cooked the salmon for dinner and sat by the fire for quite some time. Once again we were in bed early.
Sunday was sleep in day...NOT. Randy and Carter were up around 6:30am. We lit a fire and read and made breakfast after Paula crawled out of bed. We went for small walks, read, went to a giant garage sale, whatever you call them, in Antrim then returned to the camp site. Carter wanted to do the 4 on 4 so Randy drove him in for the four o'clock skate. We returned to BBQ'd hamburgers, bean salad and more smores. We laughed and yalked around the fire until almost 11:00pm Sunday. It was hardly a hot day but hot and humid and cloudy. A group of girls kept walking by the camp site. They were paying alot of attention to Bob but we really think they wanted Carter to join them. He is so dam shy. He stuck his nose in his book and they teased him about 'Reading is good for you'.
Anyhow, we had a great weekend.
It is lacrosse again tonight and also laundry night. Yesterday I spent three hours catching up on yard work. Best get back to the chores.
Have a great week!
